A Solicitors' Practice for Sport
FrontRow Legal, the Sports Media and Communications practice of Cohen Cramer Solicitors, was successfully launched on 7 May 2010 with a high quality Breakfast Seminar attended by over 100 people, at Elland Road.
The panel of speakers was made up of Shaun Edwards OBE, Coach of the British Lions, Wales and London Wasps, Dr Terry Crystal, former England Rugby Union Team Doctor, football disciplinary expert Graham Bean from Football Factors, Joe McLean from Grant Thornton LLP, an expert in sports finance and sports lawyer Clive Lawrence from FrontRow Legal.
The subject was Spectacle v Safety and it provided a lively debate with the 100-strong audience, featuring the tensions between athlete safety and the requirements for clubs and sporting bodies to provide the best spectacle for the public, broadcasters and sponsors.

Richard Cramer, partner with FrontRow said:
“This was the first of a series of seminars which focuses on one of our major growth areas, the law of sport, media and communications. We were delighted with the turnout after so many people had stayed up late to watch the Election results.
The make up of the audience included individuals and businesses who work in sport as part of their daily lives, and the seminar provided those people the opportunity to network and brainstorm ideas.
The highlight of the event for me was an inspirational talk from Steve Prescott MBE who received rapturous applause for his incredible fundraising achievements on behalf of The Christie Hospital in Manchester, and TryAssist, the benevolent fund of the RFL.”
FrontRow’s next seminar will be in September, the date to be confirmed shortly. The subject will be ‘Reputation Management and Image in Modern Media’.
